More Free Fragrance Samples Please!

Sniffing a fragrance that has been sprayed onto a thin strip of paper, is a poor method of sampling a fragrance under consideration for purchase. The practice should be stopped immediately. Outlawed even! It is a despicable substitute for giving a potential customer a free fragrance sample to take home and try at their leisure. You know, the way it used to be.

Further it is humiliating and puts the potential purchaser in the same grouping as a grazing  animal sniffing blades of grass for purity. Also, who knows where that card was before the customer was asked to whiff it. In some dusty sales cabinet draw, or on the floor maybe?

Further, it begs the question. Would sniffing the fragrance sprayed onto a sniffer strip give the sniffer reasonable feedback to base a purchase decision?  We think not.

The best and only true method of sampling a fragrance is to apply it onto the body. Wear it at the time of day the fragrance manufacturer suggests. Sample it for at least one week before making a determination whether or not the fragrance is right for you.

Here are a few questions that should be answered before making a fragrance purchase selection.

Is there a harmony between your body's chemistry and the fragrance? What comments do your friends and family make about the new fragrance when it is worn? Is the fragrance long lasting? Did it enhance your attitude in some meaningful way? Is it all you expected it to be and more? In your opinion, is the fragrance worth the asking purchase price?  

Those and other personal factors should be considered as a part of the fragrance purchasing decision process.

Try sniffing a sniffer strip at the brick and mortar fragrance counter to get the answers to those questions. Futile I would say!

Make your voices heard. Object vehemently. Demand free fragrance samples be made available in ample supply. You know! The way it used to be.
