Diffuser oil is strong, can a person take the fragrance less strong?

Daughter bought me Vanilla Lime diffuser oil with reeds and the fragrance is way too strong! It needs to be lessened somehow as allergies are acting up now. Can anyone help me with this?
Thank you.

Depends on how you use it, there are scented candles that you heat up and use a small candle underneath it, if its that sort, just add a bit more wax to the scented candle, if its an actual oil, you can dilute it with a bit of oil or even water, I have done both, and this has helped to reduce the strength of the scent, hope this helps, goodluck!
